Hi, I am Jaya Ramchandani, the founder of We Learn, We Grow, an education consultancy. I work with educational institutions and civil society to build capacities and conditions for just and regenerative futures. My work is grounded in the premise that systems only change when the people within them build personal, collective, and systemic capacities to intervene in meaningful ways. I help make that change accessible and achievable.

My approach draws on a decade of experience within the wider education sector.

In 2015, I co-directed India’s first interdisciplinary learning festival, The Story of Light, in partnership with the Government of Goa and the UN’s International Year of Light. While exploring the intersection of science, philosophy, and culture through art and design, I saw the profound impact of making interdependence visible to the public. I also realized that for large-scale awareness to become sustained action, these conceptual seeds needed to be embedded into daily learning environments.

Seeking to understand how institutions foster sustained growth, I spent the following years working within the United World Colleges movement in Japan and Wales, and the United Nations International School in New York. My roles spanned from teaching physics, theory of knowledge and general science to contributing to the new Systems Transformation Pathway. Navigating these institutional environments taught me that while educators want a better education system, they often lack the practical scaffolding to integrate new ideas into complex school structures.

To partly address this gap, I co-created the Systems Change Learning Guide with Raïsa Mirza. This framework codifies our learnings from developing the pathway, offering changemakers, educators, and leaders a structured, actionable starting point for systems work.

To intervene in complex systems, a person must possess the tools to navigate their own cognitive and behavioural processes. This led me to author Design Your Own Learning, a guided workbook that deconstructs the mechanics of learning through adult learning research, behavioral science, and neuroscience. It is available on Amazon India & Worldwide (click the image below).

Today, through We Learn, We Grow, I draw on this continuum—from public festivals and formal school curricula to open-source frameworks and individual agency tools.

I currently consult with educational institutions and civil society organizations to create the conditions required for connection and capacity building. Whether designing high school competency pathways, developing participatory capacity-building frameworks for field teams, or engaging in broader strategic planning, I am available for long-term consulting or targeted, one-off engagements.
